Homeschooling? Um? Yeah....me too.
I'm pretty sure I would totally rock the homeschooling world. Dont laugh. I would!!
Stupid skeptics.
How do I know? I know because of the mountains of homework we already do.
Jumpin' Jehosafats do we do alot of homework. I'm pretty sure that in a typical day in the 1st & 3rd Grades the teachers are required to briefly go over certain subjects and then send home the appropriate work that needs to be completed to reinforce aforementioned briefed subjects and thus the learning (er..actually WORK) is achieved at home.
My childrens teachers have outsourced most of the curriculum and I question how much they actually teach.
No longer do their teachers teach reading to those who struggle. No. They send them to 'reading club'.
No longer do they teach music. No. There is a music teacher assigned to this unwanted task.
No longer is a teacher required to teach Physical Education. We have another specific teacher for this also.
Keyboarding, a new subject for those growing up in the computer age, is taught by a better qualified individual and will not bother the teacher from this worrisome task.
BUT...lets not think for a minute that the Keyboarding Class is actually a computer tech class. Silly us...there is yet another teacher for this. Oh, and, both of these require extra homework to master these subjects. Yup, 10 minutes per night, per class. SWEET!!
Playground monitor? Check. We have one of those too! However, this poor gal is not only required to monitor the playground during recess she is also the one who monitors the parking lot during the 30 minutes in the morning when the buses are in the parking lot. Yikesa Mikesa!
So, what do I think of homeschoolers? Ummm mum mum mum? I say, Good On Ya!! Really, you are probably much happier & less bitter than me. I work for a living & I get to homework school my kids. Lucky. Me.
Several times the thought has crossed my mind that I should just throw in the bitter, mykids'teachersareouttatouch towel and just teach them myself. Kinda like I do anyway.
